BlackCrush Review — Crushing It or Just Crushing You

Describing itself as the site for “ebony dating hookups,” Black Crush is a hookup site focused on the African-American demographic. Its marketing tagline is “always black, always bad, and always beautiful.” Curious about the effectiveness of Black Crush, we signed up for its services and conducted a full Black Crush review.

There are many hookup and dating sites – some specific to the African-American market – others targeting the population in general, but with search parameters that allow you to find matches of a particular ethnicity. Most of these two types of sites offer a much better chance of success of finding a date or a hookup with an African-American woman than BlackCrush.

  • Initial registration is fast
  • Free membership is available
  • Predominantly consists of fake profiles and chatbots
  • Paid membership is required to respond to any incoming message
  • Monthly membership is high for the results obtained

Upon visiting BlackCrush for the first time we must admit that we felt disappointed. The style of the welcome page seemed eerily familiar to us. It was as if it was using an identical template to other hookup sites that we had reviewed in the past. Unfortunately, those hookup sites were far from perfect – in fact, they were utterly useless.

You can register for free directly from the welcome page. BlackCrush only requires for you to disclose your gender, select a username and password, and provide a valid email. The latter is required to receive a verification link. You must confirm your registration by clicking on that link within 24 hours, or else, your membership will be nullified. In our test, we received the verification email in less than two minutes.

As our gut was telling us from the beginning of our BlackCrush review, once we entered the membership area of the site, we discovered nothing but the makings of a “bait and switch” site.

Almost immediately, you are inundated with requests for conversations from female “members” of the site. While this would be cause for excitement if the requests were coming from real women – these contacts are nothing more than chat-bots. If you don’t know what a chat-bot is, trust us, you can’t have real sex with one.

Essentially, BlackCrush baits its new members with these conversation requests to get them to purchase paid memberships. The key to this is the fact that in order to respond to any chat request – be it from a chatbot or a real woman – a paid membership is required.

If the chatbots convinced you that African-American hotties were just a click away – well, sadly, you are most likely just out the $ that you paid for the one-month membership (or $, if you purchased three months in advance). During our tests using three different accounts, each time that we converted to a paid membership we stopped receiving chat requests. What’s worse – even when we conducted our own searches – each time we left a message on a woman’s profile, we never received a reply. Curious enough, however, approximately five to seven days before our membership expired – we started receiving messages from chatbots again. We know, what a coincidence, right?
